Welcome to Eastbound

Eastbound Park

Eastbound International Speedway and Concert Park is located in beautiful Avondale, NL, just off Exit 34 on the Trans Canada Highway. The Park consists of a 3/8 mile oval asphalt track (with eighteen degree banking along turns 1-2 and 3-4), IHRA 1/8 mile drag strip, and a state of the art concert facility. Reserved seating in our grandstands has the capacity to hold 4,500 fans and will continue to expand with growth.  Eastbound Park purchased the Avondale Raceway property in 2012 and has extensively expanded and built a world class racing facility.   Eastbound International Speedway is a sanctioned INEX and NASCAR Home track.  INEX is the third largest short track sanctioning body behind NASCAR Weekly Racing and International Motor Contest Association (IMCA) with more than 3,500 members. INEX annually sanctions more than 2,000 races at more than 200 different tracks throughout the world.  These tracks include: Atlanta Motor Speedway, Charlotte Motor Speedway, Las Vegas Motor Speedway, Texas Motor Speedway, and now Eastbound International Speedway here in Avondale, Newfoundland.

There are four different divisions of racing at Eastbound International Speedway: Sportsman, US Legends, Bandoloero, and Hobby Stock.

Sportsman Late Model Series : NASCAR Roots: Advance Auto Parts Weekly Series Division 1

Sportsman Late Model cars are built on the frame of a domestic passenger car. This is a cost-efficient, yet fast and very competitive class that runs on a treaded race tire. They have eight cylinder engines. They use manufactured bodies and components on stock frames.

Hanlon Realty US Legends Series

US Legend racecars are 5/8th scale versions of the historic NASCAR, driven during the 1930's and 1940's. Models include:

  • 1934 Chevy Sedan

  • 1937 Ford Coupe & Sedan

  • 1937 Chevy Coupe & Sedan

  • 1940 Ford Coupe

  • 1934 Ford Coupe & Sedan

Introduced in 1992 as a fun, safe, and affordable class of racing, Legends have now grown into one of the most popular classes of racing in North America. Legends were designed primarily to promote exciting racing, while keeping costs down. The age requirements for Legend cars are 14 years of age and older. Legend Cars are 5/8-scale fiberglass bodies, powered by a Yamaha motorcycle engine. Each car is driven by a 1250cc Yamaha motorcycle engine, which outputs 122 HP. Although this sounds small, combining this power with a car that only weighs 1,100lbs allows the car to reach a top speed of 130mph! The Legends Cars have become one of the fastest growing segments of motorsports today.

Bandolero Series

Bandolero car racing is a type of entry-level racing for children which started in the United States and has expanded worldwide. These miniature stock cars can reach in excess of 50mph on our sanctioned INEX track. Bandolero’s were built for the novice racer ages 8-16 years of age, with a tube frame and sheet metal cage for extra protection. The Bandolero’s have been a huge attraction for child racers as well as gathering a lot of fans within the same age bracket. Many of the Bandolero racers eventually grow into becoming a Legend car racer once they hit the age of 14 years or older.

Atlantic Dodge Dealers Hobby Stock Series : NASCAR Roots : Advance Auto Parts Weekly Series Div 2

Hobby cars are compact four cylinder cars such as the Honda Civic, Toyota Corolla and Chevrolet Cavalier. This is a great entry level class for the budget minded racer. They use stock body, frame and suspension.
